Meet the team
Dave Howard
Co-founder and Director
Dave founded both Bespoken and the Scotland Audio Network in January 2020. He leads Bespoken’s training and development offer to businesses and brands, and will talk to anyone who’ll listen about the awesome power of audio storytelling. He is a former BBC News political reporter and North America correspondent, and has won multiple awards for audio production.
Amy Fraser
Co-founder
Amy is a professional theatre actor, story-teller, and voiceover artist. She has also spent years working in marketing and property sales in London and Edinburgh.
Patrick Wallace
Senior Producer (branded)
Patrick leads Bespoken’s branded podcasts, working closely with businesses and organisations to help them reach audiences. He is the lead guitarist of Scottish rock band Cloud House and has acted professionally in theatre, film and television productions, and frequently works as a voiceover artist. He can never resist making a bad pun.
Carys Wall
Senior Producer (narrative and development)
Carys works mostly on Bespoken's narrative podcasts for broadcasters including BBC Radio 4 and the World Service. They research, storyboard and produce documentaries, and collaborate with our network of lovely freelancers to develop and pitch ideas. They are a fluent Spanish speaker and like to Live, Laugh, Listen to Weird Audio.
Joel Cox
Producer and Sound Designer
Joel is a composer, musician and audio engineer, who regularly works for BBC Radio 4, The Guardian’s ‘Today in Focus’ podcast, and the World Service. His audio work has been shortlisted for the prestigious Prix Europa.
Amanda Hargreaves
Senior Producer
Amanda is an award-winning radio producer with over 20 years experience of originating and making documentaries for BBC Radio 4, Radio Scotland and the World Service. She has also been a film festival manager and a book publishing editor. She is a fluent speaker of French and Italian.
Katie Revell
Assistant Producer
Katie is an award-winning audio producer with a particular interest in food, farming, land and climate. She works on a range of Bespoken productions, and has also produced podcasts exploring Scotland’s colonial connections, the intersections of art and climate change, the future of meat, and the history of bread. Her guilty secret is that she mostly listens to comedy and true crime.
Ailish Hunter
Production Assistant
Ailish is a Social Science graduate who co-hosted the Bespoken-made Interface internet safety podcast for 2 years. Getting this first-hand insight into audio production led her here! She edits episodes, creates content for social media and is an expert at asking random trivia questions at staff drinks.
